Cats and Kittens

Scroll down to see kittens and cats currently available for adoption through our foster- adoption program

MCPAW is excited to partner with MC C3 (Montgomery County Community Cat Coalition) in a foster/adoption program. All of our cats and kittens are currently in foster homes and are fully vetted. If you would like to meet them, please fill out this adoption interest application.

In this program, MCPAW donors contribute the resources that enable MCPAW and MCC3 volunteers to transport the cats to and from veterinary clinics for MCPAW-funded spay/neuter services, vaccinations, de-worming, microchipping, combo testing, and, if needed, urgent veterinary treatment. Then, experienced cat foster parents provide the love, socialization, healthy foods, and enrichment that are critical in preparation for a healthy start to life and for successful adoption. Our expert volunteers also coach the adopters of these cats and kittens on how to best help them adjust to their new homes and lifestyles, and they are available for additional guidance to these pet parents in the future.

We view this as a critical service that we can – and MUST – provide due to shelters in our community (and across the country) being overwhelmed with cats and kittens, most not spayed or neutered. Additionally, this program provides a special human touch and the one-on-one attention that shelters struggling with capacity issues and staffing shortages simply cannot provide.

Although our initial goal is to raise enough funding for spaying and neutering 100 of these kittens, the need will far exceed that number and we ask for your continued support through additional donations and/or through making friends, family members, and colleagues aware of the support needed for this wonderful, impact-driven program.

If you would like to volunteer to assist with this program, please fill out this Volunteer application or email vickipthomas@gmail.com or call 301-437-6189.

CALVIN
Calvin was found with his brother hiding in a pallet in a feral colony. Luckily, he was scooped up and taken to a foster home. As time passed, the foster had a vacation scheduled so he was  moved to another foster home. Calvin is now about 7 months old. He is very social and loving,  you would never guess he was born outdoors. Calvin has adjusted to his new foster home, another kitten and resident cat seamlessly.  He is fearless and love all toys. Calvin would do best in a home with a kitty friend. Calvin is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and combo-tested. If you would like to meet this adorable furballs, please fill out an adoption interest application.

Sometimes it's hard to hear/see the TV over her purring and snuggling. She is a little timid at first, but is a definite lap cat. No matter what I'm doing, Pip is there purring and chirping! She is the most vocal of her sisters and will respond if you say "Pip!" PRUDENCE, all black, is the shyest of her sisters, but she is still very sweet!! Little Pru Pru purrs a lot and loves to be petted, but will hide when strangers come over. With her foster parents she is more outgoing and likes to play with toys with us! She is a gentle and sweet girl that will surely warm up with someone who is patient.
PRINCE is a very special boy. He was found outside with a shattered back leg. Through lots of vet care he has recovered and is now ready for his furrever home. Throughout his ordeal he remained sweet, loving and gentle. What also makes him special is that he is FIV+, which experienced cat owners know is not a big deal.  Having FIV means that his immune system is a little compromised, and is only transmissable through blood. Prince is now living in his foster home with Pat the Cat (PC), another special FIV+ cat. As you can see by the pictures, PC and Prince are now buddies. It would be wonderful if they could be adopted together but they can also be adopted separately.  If you would like to meet Prince and or PC, please fill out an interest application
PAT THE CAT (PC) is also a very special boy. He was found outside lethargic, dehydrated and unresponsive. With vet care and love from MCPAW and MC C3 volunteers, has recovered and is now also ready for his furrever home.  Like Prince, PC is gentle and loving and FIV+.  Having FIV means that his immune system is a little compromised.  It is only transmissable through blood. As you can see by the pictures, PC and Prince are now buddies. It would be wonderful if they could be adopted together but they can also be adopted separately.  If you would like to meet PC and or Prince, please fill out an interest application

PERIWINKLE is an adorable two-year-old girl who was found outside. She is very much an inside girl though! She likes to sit near you, purr, and watch TV and loves to play with wand toys! She is very vocal and loves her churu -- which is great if she needs medicines!  She get along fine with her foster mom's small dog, but prefers to be an only cat.  She has great litterbox manners and is a good eater!  She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccines, combo-tested, and microchipped. SHADOW and SLATE are two adorable, active teenage kittens! Slate has a beautiful dark gray striped coat, with soft white fur on his belly and legs.  Initially, Slate is initally a little shy, but is very food motivated: mealtimes are his favorite time of the day. He also loves to play! Shadow is a beautiful girl cat, with allover stripes in shades of gray, even on her belly. She’s equally interested in playing and eating. While she enjoys chasing the feather toy, she is also content to just relax. Both are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for FeLV and FIV.
If you would like to meet then, please fill out this interest application.
MAMITA, ASHLEY and BRIT were found outside.
